As the title says- I know it's minor but it's fairly visible and should I ever come to sell the GSA it might put some off.

Pic shows paint bubbling around the torx bolts surrounding the filler cap. Prior to this developing my usual routine of ACFing was in place. Since I've noticed it start, I've removed the bolts (stainless all round), greased them up and replaced- couldn't find any breaks in the paint or any other evidence of corrosion.

Anyone else experienced this here or elsewhere? Bike is 07 plated. Have ordered a stick-on cover but this is just hiding the problem.

Solutions/hints appreciated- be gentle!:beerjug:

I have a 58 plate and its done the same thing

Just assumed its the age, im sure if yountalk to a dealer they will tell u the best way to sort it, i wouldnt just cover it mate

Don't worry about it. :D

This week I saw a R1200GSA which has only been on the road since early December and it's showing a touch of winter wear already.

By the way, if the price is right it shouldn't put anyone off unless they are a complete pedant. :P

my 06 reg did it. got a new one under warranty & that was sill good when i traded it in last year.

Just rest your hand on the filler when folks are viewing. They'll never notice.
That'll learn you for getting it wet.
Alternatively, if that is the biggest problem you face with having a 1200 at that age, then I would be very pleased.:D

Take it off, rub it down, buy a can of hammerite smooth, spray on and bingo:thumb

Job's a carrot:D

My 05 GS did this, my 07GSA is doing this. Fit a new filler cap assembly if it worries you. (Was about £60 when I asked in 2006), Its a £10,000 bike after all so deserves better than Hammerite IMHO

easy to do yourself

dont bodge it
you see it every time you get on the bike and if you love the bike it will annoy the fuck out of you :beerjug:
