Mirror adjustment R1150GS

This will seem really stupid, but I have had my year 2000 R1150GS for three days and need to slacken and adjust the left hand mirror. Can't find a nut opposite the mirror stem, only an Allen head. Am I missing the obvious or is there some dismantling required ? Thanks.

watch out if you do the right hand one, it's left hand thread (at least it is on my 1100) - I didn't know and stripped the thread couple weeks ago, and had to get a nut for it.
