Before I order, is there enough cable that I presume goes to the mirror head for the blind spot assist facility ?

If your 1300 has blind spot detection then you will need to check that any extender you buy is either hollow to allow the wire to pass through or has some other mechanism to allow to wires to bypass the extender to get to the mirror. The Wunderlich ones I had on my 1250 which would have fit my 1300 were solid. If you find a solution let me know as the extenders did give a much better field of view to the standard mirror stalk.
