I've been looking at mirror extensions for my GSA as I'd like a touch more width. However, the ones I've seen on Nippy normans (winderlich) and touratech look as though they could catch/interfere with the switch for the spot lights. Has anyone with spot lights tried these and found this to be an issue?

I bought a set off ebay - I wanted a bit of extra width so not to see so much of my elbows. They fitted just fine but the extention did go infront of the aux light switch so I couldn't see the green led and it was a bit fiddly to operate. However, I have a Ztechnik screen which is wider than the standard GSA screen and they fouled on full lock. So off they came. I have fitted bar risers now so might give them another go.

Because we're not all built the same, and I have such broad shoulders that I get a good view of my elbows in the mirrors no matter how much I play about with the mirrors

Relax your arms and tuck your elbows in to your body then.

My arms are very relaxed

Yeah that would be comfortable having to keep my elbows tucked in for hours on end :blast

Well thats what they teach at California Superbike; works for me for on road riding and forces grip on bars to be relaxed. Can sink a GSA tank in that position without stopping no problem.

I used to ride like that on my Gixxer, but found after a while my arms fatigue where I'm pulling them in to my torso. It's the same on the GSA, tucking my arms in isn't a relaxed position for me. It's not as though I've got them stuck out like Biggles though :thumb

Looking into this I think that the mirror extenders will interfere with the spot light switch. Is it possible to get a longer mirror arm to fit the GSA?

I have them fitted and they don't interfere with the switch at all, and i can see the green light. These were got off ebay as well.

I'll post a couple of photos tomorrow.

That'd be great, thanks :thumb2

Just a quick couple of photo's as promised. I tried to keep the camera at the same sort of line of sight as i have when looking down. In the other photo you can seen the green 'on' light. Sunny day so it doesn't look that bright.

Hope they help a little.

Why not wire the spot lights into your high beam or low beam???

CLAW.... What's the little red button zip-tied to your RH Grip?? Photon torpedo's??

Many thanks, the ones I was looking at just added to width, and hence would create problems with the spot light switch. The one you have raises it up as well so I think I'll have to go for this type :thumb2

They look identical to the ones I bought. When positioned for my preference the green light is obscured - might be becasue I'm tall. Not really an issue though. Big problem for me was the mirror fouled the screen on full lock but then I have a non-OEM screen fitted and didn't try it with the standard GSA screen.

I'm 6'3" and quite wide which is why i got the extenders in the first place. They made a great difference to me.

I have the standard GSA tinted screen, and they've not been a problem on full lock.
