This is my first rid report so be gentle. Not even much of a up loading files person but hopefully it will work! Here goes. .

The trip has been planned for months. 9 days, 2000 planned miles from Cromer, which is home by the way to Misano Italy for the MotoGP and back. Plan is to ride via Colmar in north east France, across to Como in the Italian lakes and then down to Misano. Home will be to Pisa and around the med coast and then up through the French Alpes and home. Oil and filter change and new front pads and new Sargent seat for my butt.

Left a day earlier than planned as I was starting to feel that 650miles on the first day was going to be a bit much as I’m not really a hardened mile muncher. The new Sargent seat wasn’t the best today so dropped the rear down to min to take some weight off my under thighs. It felt better. Might be a bit due to doing 250 miles to te BSB at Cadwell Park and back on the GSXR with a 45 min slow moving queue in hot leathers and sunshine. First stop kent and the Holiday Inn express at Folkestone, A pretty good price £40 B&B and right opposite the tunnel for the morning. The weather upto here was good and getting warmer.

SORRY ABOUT THE TYPING BUT WE HAVE ALL SEEN PICTURES OF KENT AND THE TUNNEL BEFORE!

Got an early train and the tunnel was as smooth as ever, by far the best way to cross. Met Dave and Tracey travelling to Misano too on a ZXR1400 and said we would ride as far Reims together. Did this then i turned left and said goodbye hoping to meet up qualifing day in Travallia.

Made it to Colmar on time and in lovely evening sunshine. What a stunning place.015 (450x800).jpg

Chez Leslie was a great b&b and can totally recommend it.

Next day headed out into germany heading east then south to como. Got lost (not really lost, sat nav new where i was but the road planned was over there somewhere) after road works and decided to make a left turn and see where i ended up. Good move as i found a great road without a sole on it, through trees and up and down a valley.

Made it to Meaggio on lake como around 5. Stunning place. Im sure all of you that have been there will agree!

Met up with Ian as agreed on UKGSER earlier for the ride to misano.

Having trouble with uploading pics. The allowance is far too small!!!!! Arhhhhhh:spitfire

Most people get a photo sharing service like smugmug, or host the images on their own ISP.. then link them.

(keep replying to yourself and adding one or two photos at a time)

continued again. .

It was a nice morning after a few beers in town. The hotel Ian and I stayed in was the Garden House. Not bad but the rooms are pretty basic for the money.067 (800x600).jpg
Ian getting ready for the days ride to misano.
069 (800x600).jpg
We thought it would be nice to take the ferry over to the center land from Cadenabbia to Beliagio.
071 (800x600).jpg
074 (800x600).jpg
075 (800x600).jpg
It was a good move as it was beautiful. As we never took the coast road on the main land side i dont know what that was like but the road down the east side of the pennisular was stunning. Theres even a camp site that i never got a picture of on that road which was actually right on the waters edge and nice and small. Cant name it but if you ride that road you will find it. The SS583.

Weather couldnt have been better as a lot of people seem to get clouds and rain around the lakes. I think the ferry was about 9euro to cross.
Headed south passed Monza and Misano to join the toll road south eat to misano. What a dulllllllll road. Almost 180miles in a straight line. Snoozeee
086 (800x600).jpg

Arrived

The road was long and totally uninteresting but got us to where we wante to be. Misano. My sister had been there for few days already in her motorhome as she doing a european adventure for 9 months. Camping was at Riccione camping, very nice and easy going site with a pool and in walking distance of the track if needed.

Quali day cont

and some more..
108.jpg
112.jpg
Stunning view back from the town looking at Misano circuit. You really can just see the track from rossi's home town thats how close it is.
113.jpg
Qualifying was good fun in the cafe and now way too crowded as we thought it might be. They have a big screen in the town square onlast race of the season or a rac that rossi can clinch the title! Ummm might be happening very soon!!
117.jpg
A few beers back at the camp site and then to race day..

Race day

Up early to head upto the track. Ian scored a result with finding chap selling a ticket at the toll booth coming into rimini on friday. 100euro for a full weekend pass!!
125.JPG
We rode upto the track and actually got right to the gates without some stupid security jumped up idiot reading the riot act ( aka donnington), its just how it works here, bikes can go where ever they want. .love it! Ian's pass was for a differant area so he headed of there which was actually the best place to see stoner make a fool of himself again! Ops sorry stoner fans.:augie
I was in Prato 1, right in the middle of the fast straight.
126.jpg
Token brit flag. Actually there was one or two dotted around.
128.jpg
Go bradley!!!! If was a bit funny being the only one shouting for bradley everytime he passed. A couple of italians joined in after a while though.
136.jpg
Thankfully the speedo motogp look wont catch on in the UK!
143.jpg
But the beer bellys can be seen the world over! Great race to be at and the atmosphere was electric. Shame the race didnt go to the end with rossi and stoner but from my point of view i got the result i wanted with the bonus of egg on face!:thumb2:clap

Monday morning..

Monday morning arrived after a few beers with Dave from the tunnel crossing and a few campers he had met, pizza down in the harbour at misano. Time to head west and for Ian to head north. Said goodbyes to Ian and my sister who was also heading north and pointed in the direction of San Marino.
162.JPG
Lovely view looking up at the cliff face to San Marino.
163.JPG
Its just full of these little cobble streets. And tat shops selling knifes!!! Not sure what thats all about but might be to defend themself if another country bracks the boarder!!
164.JPG
This is the road up from the coast that i took. It was as good as it looks.:thumb2
165.JPG
Then there was this road to the south.. no time for that one though this time..
166.jpg

continued..

More pics of the towers...

175.jpg
Time to head out into this..
176.jpg
And onto pisa. .

road to pisa

Now things got interesting. This road cant be bigged up enough. I left San Marino and headed east first along the SP258 which apart from the qarry lorries was a blast. Quiet and twisty. Sort of rural at times but never bad just tight.
177.jpg
headed up to cross the E45 and on into the national park. I have to say i didnt get the camara out for a while as my smile wouldnt let me get the helmet off!:aidan
There was something like 70miles of this...
179.JPG
and..
181.jpg
If you get that way do this road because i have never ridden or seen anything as good for so many miles. I sort of wish id taken more pics but my toe sliders were getting too hot!! :D:D:D Theres lots of little villages and the winding road is through trees mountains and valleys,, im going back be sure of that. Only saw about 10 other bikes the whole way and maybe 20 cars!
The second half of the cross route was auto route so boring and hot... 38deg in Firenze, maybe thats why its called that?
Pisa... Ummmm Not much there is there? I expected more but i suppose more is not always better. The tower was cool to see for real but i prefured the main buildings myself.
184.JPG
Rode straight into the middle and parked up as close as possible..
186.jpg
Awaiting parking ticket!!
