cut a ength of insulating tape in haf lengthwise and carefully wrap 2 layers over that

and then remember to vaseline inside and out so ya can get the leads back off later

These are pics of the one I've taken off - I can't see any damage or cracks but inside the terminal for the R/H cylinder you can clearly see there has been some arcing going on.

Well, I can clearly see it anyway, you might not be able to tell so easily from the pictures.

No not taking the piss the damage is right at the end as normal probably caused by trying to get the leaads back out after a while!

If you cut insulating tape down to 5 to 10mm it will wrap anything very nicely and the vaseline will seal it it an add extra insulation

Then just try it if it improves then you've lost nothing but 8 inches of insulating tape and a dab o vaseline from yer secret stash!
