Missing retaining clip on passenger foot peg pin. 2022 1250GS

I ordered a variety pack from Amazon a few weeks ago and I found the thickness was greater than the width of the slot. I think we need to know the thickness spec in addition to the diameter.

If no one else has measured yet, I can do it.

I had a recall notice on this item for my F900xr last week.

Fitted proper circlips and lock wired the fuckers on, can’t be doing with footrests flying off when I crash.

Their is a recall for the clips reference on the letter 0046630000

Had a recall letter today for my R1250GS for the foot peg security clip replacement, a rather dramatic envelope it was too.

Essentially says, check the rider and passenger foot pegs ,and get along to a dealer who should be able to do a while you wait replacement

wouldn't that be the least of your worries if you're crashing

:D

had mine done at the service then, as already said, a dramatic if not catastrophised letter bordered in red arrived looking like a cheap sales letter for UPVC or lottery scam

Mine is a 21 reg GS with only 7500 miles on it. Foot pegs are the 719 option and both were missing the E clip that BMW used. Bought in some 8mm circlips and a pair of circlip pliers for £10 total and replaced myself…..not worth a 2 hour round trip and waiting for an hour lol

BMW are blaming the loss of clips on corrosion - in my case it certainly was not corrosion, it was 'non-springy' clips, once pushed into the slot they had been expanded beyond their elastic limit - this happened a few times and eventually my dealer managed to find some clips that stayed in place. I first reported this 2 years ago; why it has taken BMW this long to get around to acknowledging the problem is somewhat surprising and then blaming it on corrosion, hmmmmmmmm.

My 2023 bike looks to have SS clips..

Just had the letter for a 2023 bike. I have put GSA rear pillion hangers on too, so they’ll have them and the original GS rear pillion set todo.
