This posting comes about because of a conversation with Blue Sweeper yesterday after we got exhausted watching two tossers on 1150/1200GSs try to get up a muddy bank during yesterday's Surrey Trail Ride

Firstly read this short thread.

I was using a Mitas CO-2 on the the back of my DR-Z. It's the best tyre I've ever used off road. It's E-marked and, I am told is road-legal (see linked thread).

The official Mitas site is here.

From this table you can see that the CO-2 is a mid-range 'Cross' performer:

and is available in 130/80-17 M/C TT - so should fit an HP2.

The UK importer is:

Marek Beran at:

Hi

I hate the new Karoo T.
I really lowe the Michelin T63.
I love the Mitas C-09 Dakar.
I hated the C-02 for the first 200 km, after that it was a good and predictiable tyre.
But most of all I really like the Trelleborg T644 Army Special.

best wishes

Tried a METZELER UNICROSS the other day
It was pretty good at finding grip :thumb
Don't suppose it would last long on the HP2
But would be good while it lasted

mitas was BARUM some years ago. Barum was one of the best rear enduro tires i´ve ever tried on my former XR600. Good on off road, very puncture resistant, good durability, and decent on road, and overall CHEAP.:thedummy

I used Mitas on my recent Moroccoan offroad trip on a KTM 450EXC. We all agreed that they were awesome in sand, mud, snow, stones. And cheap too.

That's good info to know!!:thumb

Dunno how long the C0-2 would last on a much bigger HP bike but they last well on my 450exc.Buy them in bulks of 10 and you should get them for 32quid ish each.;)
