Very nice example of the original Bandit 1200.

I've had this a couple of years now.

Did want to keep it, but a wandering eye and limited space mean it's up for sale.

Lovely bikes to ride, great torquey engine. Oil / air cooled, so simple.

Full black widow exhaust system. Currently wearing bar end mirrors, but all original bits / exhaust included as well.

30,000 miles from new. 1999 on a "T". Was a faired "S" model originally, but the previous owner preferred the naked look, as many do.

Braided brake and clutch lines.

Un-butchered rear mudguard (usually hacked off with a carving knife!)

Some age related patina, but very good and original. Someone has painted the side covers at some point, but they blend in well I think.

MOT until end of March, so will re-do for sale, so will have a full ticket. (MOT history shows a steady 1500 miles per year.)

Carbs set up by turbo guru Pete Field last year.

I'd happily jump on this and go absolutely anywhere.

£2,000.

There’s a few receipts. But I don’t think it’s comprehensive if I’m honest. But I’ll check and update later.

A bike like this, at 26 years old, is something you sort of look after yourself.

A service takes 45 mins including plugs etc.

Valves are screw and locknut. Such simple underrated bikes.

And almost bombproof.

You might remember that I bought the blue Bandit 1250S from you back in 2018. I still have it 20,000 miles later. Still love it and it's a keeper.

Looks like you've finished the building work :DD

Holy Moly!

No, I'd totally forgotten that Glynn.

Glad you're getting good service out of her.

Wish I could keep a bike for 20,000 miles to tell the truth. :ROFLMAO:

That 1250 came from Alistair Sutcliffe of this parish some years ago. A few on here will remember him no doubt.

Yes, that's the one. And a mighty fine job he did of cleaning it too! It's still in very good condition and has outlasted several other bikes that have come and gone.

Good luck with your current sale :thumb

I bought a 1250s from Alistair picked it up from Whitby and rode it home wish I kept that one.
It was immaculate

Another? How many did that man have?!

Did you get an autographed book though like I did?

I believe a falling out over the sale of another bike.

Alastair is fondly remembered. A lovely guy. Not sure what he’s up to these days. A doctor I think??

Yes he and his Mrs were (are?) doctors.

He was also the first guy to summit the 7 tallest mountains on his first attempt.

His book "The Hardest Climb" is a good read.

Very interesting chapter on him surviving a very nearly fatal brain haemorrhage.

I read it from time to time. He had some really strange visions / dreams in a sort of no-mans land between alive and dead.

What’s the service history Rich

Not a lot of history. Tends to get lost over the years I suppose.

2x original keys.

Just about every MOT slip.

A small service book from a dealer that must have sold the bike used. So 2 services stamped in there from 2003 - 2004.

V5 shows 6 previous owners, which given the year, isn't excessive I wouldn't say.

Weekend bump.

Open to reasonable offer.
