Hi I need help.A dog ate my Gs 1100 ABS cables, front and rear.He also ate my saddle and severed the fuel injection wires going to the L/H injector. The saddle is not a major issue. The other things are.
Can i just rejoin/solder the abs cables??
Where would i get the injector wires.Could i solder them too??
I want to change the handle bars and retain the heated grips, can anyone recommend replacement bars.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry but I don't know enough to be able to help you Tom. :o

I would recommend you start by kicking a new hole in that feckin dog though. :augie

Yes, I've done it to the front cable and the ABS worked afterwards:thumb2

I protected the joints with self-amalgamating tape, I did not have any suitable shrink-wrap at the time.

Maybe feed the dog in future?

My Welsh Springer pup chewed every coat I owned over the space of 3 months, and picked the cat up by the head one day as if to say 'Clever me'

I like using it wherever possible, instead of the normal insulating tape, but am never sure if it's the correct tape to use, even though it seems to do a superb job, and be totally waterproof. :nenau Do you feel it's ok to use :nenau

I was a bit luckier than you the Rabbit ate my Melvin Hunter seat on my 1150, but at least I could eat the rabbit, never tried dog :mmmm

abs cables

Tape will do for now, but I suggest saving up to replace them with the OEM type as they can play up eventually and sending all sorts of canbus error messages or even worse, fire off the abs without warning . I asked about this when I cut through the rear abs line accidentally ( see a much earlier thread somewhere here ). The guys at BRM in Bristol siad it was fine for a temp job, but due to the sensitive nature of the beast, recommend replacing it as the shielded cable is so proprietary - typical BM, of course.
