I have a Nokia 6600 mounted on a Ram bracket, connected through my ProSport 7 Autocom harness.

My problem is that when the phone rings (I can hear the ringing tone OK), once I pick up, I can no longer hear anything, tho the caller apparently can hear me OK. I thought I'd solved the problem with Pidcocks' Autocom man by fitting the correct connector onto the phone jack, but alas it seems not.

Does anyone know what might be the cause? (I personally suspect it is the handset rather than the Autocom equipment).

Charliem,

I bought an Autocom adaptor to connect my 6310i to my Pro7 at the NEC; I haven't tried it yet, but the guy said that on the 6310i you cannot use the top 3 volume levels "due to a Nokia software fault".

Try setting the volume lower?

Good luck

The problem

might be down to a software glitch. I presume the phone is okay on its own, have you tried it a normal hands free kit? It could be the terminals on the bottom of your phone. Try giving them a clean with a normal pencil rubber. If all else fails and it works with the hands-free doodah give Autocom a call, they seem good on the customer service front and may offer some assistance.

Thanks guys; in fact the problem seems to have cleared itself but I acknowledge Andysdad's comment about a Nokia software glitch in relation to the volume control - I think the software doesn't like th einerface with the Autocom.

;)
