Hi folks

A question for those of you who have heavily modified bikes - who do you get your insurance through?

Cheers aye

Carole Nash were pretty good with my Ducati, which had frame mods and suchlike... things not on your average telesales bloke's tick list!

Bemoto firm, been with them for 3 or 4 years now.

When I purchased my 1290SAS they were cheaper compared to the other company who I used to insure my GSA.

Have a chat with them.

MSM for dirtbikes, if you're asking

If it's the Airhead GS and a classic, try RH Insurance or Lynbrook

I've heard that Peter James are good.

I'm with RH who I've found really good for mine.

When I spoke to Carole Nash (who I was with previously) they asked if the bike had had any modifications.

I replied, it arrived as a frame and an engine on a pallet.

'Yes, but has it been modified?' :blast

If I have any issues with RH or the prices go higher for no reason, I'll be talking to Peter James.

Nin, my road-registered track R90S is insured on a multi-bike with Footman James. It has too many mods to list, but top 3 are: Engine raised in frame, frame modified with gussets and extra tubes, and the sub-frame welded to the mainframe. My favourite picture (any excuse to post it!):

Carol Nash charged me +£10 for 860 conversion from 650 and were one of the lowest prices on the Meerkat.
But then they sent me an email at the end of the year to say renewal was due and I should shop around. They put their price up a lot as they said. I went elsewhere, now have come back at a good price a year later. All change again after each year unless these new regs(guidelines?) kick in.

Hi all, thanks for advice on this - just closed the deal with Peter James insurance, who did a great price (£150 less than FJ) and were really helpful.

That’s an agreed value and significant modifications - the list runs to more than one side of a4!

Bottom of the hill at Cadwell?

So that'll be you then on the cover of the June BMW club mag from a Cadwell track day 2021
