Definitely a model kit Keith, make I don't know but it's a good inspiration for anyone wanting to do a job on a K100. :thumb2

Any shots of the other side....wondering if it could be a 'blow job'...:nenau
It is Mike.

This appears to be the same bike in an earlier iteration:

There's a thread somewhere out there discussing the turbo fit and the later tweaks to it. I'll see if I can find it.

Just saw this here.

See posts 15 & 16. Same bike.

That's got to be the fugliest one yet :blast

And that frame

Pose, not gose
It's standard K-Brick frame until you get to the rear sub-frame from the point where the fabricated upper shock mount is.

I kinda like that one :thumb

Bet when you get in close it's had some money thrown at it ....

:beerjug:

Look at the Ohlins bottom mount. Instead of the shock mounting on the final drive housing, it's mounted on that added bracket on the swing-arm (like the last version of the K-brick).

USD forks and that home-made sub-frame, a shortened seat, cut down foot-rest plates and not much more to get a bike that has far more power as standard than most Boxer GS Specials can ever hope for, with far better reliability and MPG too.

It would be nicer with cross-spoke wires from an R100R. It can be done:

You sure?

I bow to your vastly superior knowledge of brick construction, but the standard K frame has a triangular section with the top length sloping downwards, then the slightly upswept rear subframe.

This blue beasty has lost a whole section of bracing from that back end, and has in the process gained a rather long and straight section from the gearbox mount point to the back end of that seat unit :nenau

It looks and feels dead wrong to me Mike

You sure?
Yup.

Here's a (grubby, pre-cleaned) shot of the standard frame from my old K75C:

Now look at the K75"GS":

K75gs%204-L%20a-L.jpg

The upper circle is where the top, side tube has been cut and the upper shock mount added. Just below it is a short brace tube (probably made from the removed frame tube that would have run from the lower circled section up to the rear of the standard frame).

The arrow shows the top gearbox/frame mounting lug.

It's definitely a cut down and modified standard K75/K100 frame Bill. Very neat too IMO.

Ok, I can see that, but the construction BEHIND that doesn't look strong enough to me.......There are two bracing bars crossing the upper two apexes, but even with those, I don't think I'd want to do much more than a road ride on it :beerjug:

More on the bike here:

This bike is also the development source for Realm Engineering K-Brick rear shocks. Having fitted one to the K75S, I'll fit one to my K1 when the OE unit has to be replaced.

Think about the weight that they have dropped off it Bill NO pannier arrangement swinging in the wind that old tail lamp section which is quite heavy etc etc

All his construction has to support is the rider and a Tail pack (cant remember the name of that one, they used to do them for K1200's and that trellis arrangement looks better than some jap factory things that I have seen!

Interesting....It'd make a mess of the K1 lines though...:D

Wonder what the performance increase is.
