Being asked on behalf of a friend of mine.

Any help much appreciated:

I can't insert a movie clip into a Powerpoint presentation.

Everything works ok until the prompt "how do you want to start the clip in the slide show". I click either 'Automatically' or 'When clicked' but both just give me a black square!

My Pinnacle Studio 10 video editing software creates movie clips with an extension .stx but these don't seem to work in Powerpoint. I've created video clips with .wmv and .mpg extensions and moved a copy of the video into the same folder as the Powerpoint file but without success.

your graphics card is not man enough, I think will have a think about it... but that's waht it sounds like.

pinnacle as with all editing stuff will wrap the clips in a bit of code (propriatorial shite unique to pinnacle) try saving the file to being an avi. but it might make the clip too big as it's uncompressed video.

don't use hyperlinks theya re crap as well... but it still sound slike a graphics card issue...

what's it for? if it's a proper presentation?

why not have the clip open behind the power power point then use the "alt" and "tab" buttons to allow you to to jump from software to software... then space bar to play movie...

best of luck

it's it's life or death stuff book me for a fee and I'll either built the ppt. or if need be come along and run it as well....

I am obliged to the guru of the magic lanterns for this and his PM. Well received by my pal.

Vis-a-vis the gig.... no great shakes, just something he is putting together to explain summut or other to a dull and small audience.

Somehow this just made me think of you :D Keep up the good work :thumb2

looks like a day in my office...:D

You may also want to consider running the footage off a seperate drive connected by firewire 400 or 800 it'll help the laptop deal with the size of the video file if it's to be full screen and good quality.

new motto

"no job too small no fee too large!"

right upwards and onwards, no rest for the wicked....or the stupid I guess....:blast
