Monday is the national holiday AND the sail-out of some 60 tall sail ships. The Armada leaves from Rouen, and goes along the Seine to the sea.

It's a once every 8 years event, and they expect 7 million spectators, so the only way to see it is on a bike.

I'm off hopefully tomorrow to scout for a location.....
 
Thanks. We were on the pontoon at the bridge of Bretonne in the village of caudebex-en-caux.

I managed to get us on it, since it was used by the fire brigade, but flashing my press card did the trick. We were on our own on a massive pontoon...
