Monday 28 December

Hi Richard, r u going through Saffron Walden, if so could meet you there or somewhere suitably close? May also bring Lin and lunch sounds good please.

I make that six (maybe 7 with Lin?) for lunch. I'll contact the pub on Saturday to see if I can change the booking.

Yes, we'll be going through Safffon Walden. Best place to meet would be at the mini-roundabout at the top of the green, on the road that leads out to the cricket club. I think there is a church / pub on the corner or a big sign???

I'll work out the spot when I can access Google maps.

Saffron Walden, corner of Ashdon Street / Church Street and the B1052.

We'll be heading off down the B1052 to Linton.

I am off to see my parents (by car!) with the family. They live in Clare, so I will certainly be passing through Linton mid morning! see you on the road .. !! (If you see a bloke leaning out the car gesturing tosser at you you'll know who it is ...!)

That's a common local gesture of goodwill for Linton I'm afraid. Richard I have an afternoon family thing so not sure we can make lunch after all. If you haven't included us for lunch don't worry.
Should still be ok for Saffron Walden collection though. You're right its a church or possibly the museum on the corner, know exactly where you mean. Close by is one of Tiptrees excellent cafes.

Jolly good.

Looks like we are all set for tomorrow. Those that are meeting at Chelmsford, Tesco Miami roundabout (Me, Charlie, Cooky and Monty) I'll see you there.

Brian, I'll see you in Suffrin' Walden. The rest? At Walkers' or McD's if Walkers' is shut.

Lunch at the Rising Sun, High Street, Kimbolton.

Richard

Hi Richard,

Running a bit behind on prep for tomorrow. So as not to mess you about I will head straight to breakfast and meet you guys there if I make it out ok.

I need to see if Sarah's clothes fit, for starters! :o

I reckon that will take you about 45 mins from Chelmsford to SF, so will arrange to be on the roundabout before 10. Well not exactly on the roundabout but very close by.

Morning all,

Looks like a nice day for a ride, but alas I won't be out on the RT. Sarah's riding gear doesn't fit as it should, so game over for me.

Have a cracking day.

Top day out Richard, thanks very much for organising it. Nice also to put some faces to (forum) names.

Many thanks Richard, great ride today and good to hook up with fellow tossers.

Andy

Good to catch-up with everyone, in extraordinary weather.

My thanks to those who came along for the ride and lunch, Andy, Brian, David and Pauline, Charlie. Also thanks to those who came along to say "Hello" at Walkers, Neil DD, att, Norfolk Tiger and KevB.

Plain sailing all the way around, I'm happy to say.

PS att believes that all the strange weather and other oddities heralds the end of the world. He could well be right. At least he'll go down happy (as always).

Sounds like you guys had a nice run today. Shame I didn't spot this earlier as I live 20 minutes from Walkers (near Snetterton) so could have popped in to say hi and joined the ride from there.

I'll keep my eyes peeled and hopefully join if you do a similar run in the future.

Yes, thanks very much for organising the ride-out Richard, Pualine enjoyed it as well. It was nice to get back on the gsa after a few months off it.
As always it is great to meet up with fellow riders again to say hello and catch up with chit-chat.
