Toll Booths
Always go to booth with credit card or various French/Italian cards. Make sure car in front. When said car puts in his/her card select first gear. When barrier goes up follow car closely. Barrier thinks you are a trailer and won't hit you on head .Voila - Works a treat on Bristol Suspension Bridge as well

+1. When the machine spits out the ticket, just hold it between your palm and the throttle till you pull over to the rest area on the right.
If there is a group of you, the lead bike pulls over to the rest area puts away any change / ticket and puts his gloves back on, then waits for the last one through the tolls. When the last one is ready the lead bike pulls away on a signal from the last bike. Works a treat.
Personally I find the small plastic flap on the left hand sleeve of the Rallye II ideal for storing a credit card, Peage tickets and change. Just a friendly word though, make sure the zip is fully done up before pulling off. DAMHIK.
Did that and travelled miles down to Italian border then got fined for not having a ticket 60 euro's at the time (they charge you for the longest distance between booths then a fine of 40 euro's)

Now lets have a little common sense here. Obviously you do not follow my suggestion when entering a toll section. Stop take ticket and keep safe. When leaving toll section is the time to follow my suggestion.

Just let them hoot their horns, you are paying, but i go for the toll on the right as in France they normally have a rest place just after a toll to get your bits together. In the que I unzip my jacket and stuff my gloves in there and put them on later.

Money Pouch
In days gone by I used a Life Venture camera pouch with a velcro strap/belt loop which was perfect to fasten round your bars. Worked ok, money/passport/phone all in one tidy place. Now just use the credit/debit card but make sure you use one of the manned booths, you may be charged a car rate even if you enter the lane with the motorcycle sign over. All booths take cash and cards. Hooting drivers, your on holiday so relax and enjoy and then wave at them as you fly past!..........

I notice from a couple of your posts you say your other half is with you at the tolls. Not read every post so someone else may have pointed this out, but what the hell are you paying for? Make him do it the lazy bastid
Whenever we're abroad it is nearly always as part of a group and over the years we have developed a system that works really well. We nominate one rider as toll man. He rides to the front as we aproach the tolls (he's on radio and gets a shout as the signs warn of the booths) First one is to collect the tickets, he pulls up at the machine while the rest of us file up beside and go through one at a time as he collects the tickets. We wait the other side and wait for his ok thats he's put tickets away safe and off we go again.
Next booth he rides to the front, he hands all the tickets in and tells them he's paying them all. Now this can cause some confusion, as they don't always employ from the top of the gene pool, but most times the operater will get a calculator out and take the money in one go, we then file through one at a time.
This can either be done with a kitty to start with, I've done it where I've collected 20 euro's of everyone whilst in the tunnel, other times we just settle up over dinner or breakfast.
So in future get that lazy arse other half to do it for you
