I'm considering putting a tracker on my 2019 R1250GS - is anyone using the Monimoto tracker? Thoughts? Seems to get decent reviews, but it does seem a little on the large side to effectively hide away - for those who may have installed it - where did you place it (my current thoughts are under the beak area bodywork if I do go for one).

TIA

Fit it under the seats, take off the silver trim and there is loads of room, that's where the BMW fitted trackers are.

PM sent on positioning. I have one and it was useful to have though there's no actual support if it does get nicked so you have to contact plod with the locatio etc and it relies on you having your phone on to receive the automated call to say your bikes on the move. I have a 1250 now that has the datatool 1 as standard so ha e put it on my car

I bought one to see what it was like and if it worked and it's great. Easy to move around different vehicles and at around £35 pa for the running costs/sim card it's a bargain.

Thanks all, much appreciated - I must admit from what I'd seen from their advertising and website it all looked good, but nothing like personal recommendations. Thanks again

I use a giff gaff sim card in mine. So long as i set it off every 3 months or so, the card stays valid on pay as you go.
Costs about £2 a year in texts as you dont have to use their sim system

Thanks for the tip on SIM cards. My system sends my phone a message each day so I guess this overcome's the need to remember to set it off every three months.

Could you share that with me please? Bought one just as a "nice to have" but not sure where to locate it.

I have one on my V7 and one on my Stelvio, think they are great and the latest app is very very good.

Easy enough to hide away, mine are “7”s and I’m getting 18 months on batteries.

I just treated myself to a 9.

Still want to get the proper fitted one but at least this is something. Just hidden it as best I can now..

Had one, the 9, for a few months now. Move mine from bike to bike and even the car. Does exactly what i wanted....... gives a chance of revovery if a scrote nicks it. Annual fee for what you get is good vfm.
Testing mine and it tracked the bikes location exactly, without about a metre.
Highly recommended from me...... no worries about battery drain as its rechargeable.
