Having recently picked up my new lock cyclinder for an Adv tank filler cap, I was impressed to see that it came complete with a additional/new key (lock was ordered using chasis number).
Later that evening, I just had to check to see if the key was indeed the same as the origonal.
To my horror, upon withdrawing the key from the cylinder all the lock internals ejected all over the kitchen floor! At this point I must explain, I was a bit the worse for wear for Merridown Vintage!!
What a fun night, Cider + lock cylinder = free nights entertainment.
I thought, I'll keep this quite, no need to tell anyone, but I'm a great believer in learning from others mistakes.
I really must stay off the cider.

Did the same with my pannier lock - Oh joy!

:blast

Had to build my pannier locks myself as there are no BMW dealers on the isle of wight. Friends picked up panniers on the mainland for me and delivered them rather than me taking the bike over the water.

took me about 5 hours in the end
