Mono bevel

Question for the anoraks ,?
What's the lowest ratio available ,that a spokey type wheel will fit:)

Probably the lowest you will find will be the three stud G/S one, and they are hard to find in good condition.
If you do find one and have to replace the large output bearing remember that BMW specify Loctite 272 to hold the bearing in the case - it isnt mentioned in some repair manuals. and I havent seen any DIY tutorial mention it either.

A few years back I fitted a 1000cc engine into my mono g/s. It was terrible, the entire chassis wasn't upto it and the gearing just didn't work. The worst thing about the mono is the wheelbase changes length with the suspension travel this gets exaggerated the more power you have.

However, unless you modify a road bikes bevel to take a paralever wheel you will be pretty much stuck with 37:11 - that's assuming you can find one.

This one is going on a more off roady type thing so it will need a nice low ratio,
So a g/s or st 3stud is lowest ratio:thumb

that's the 37:11

If you haven't got one or the wheel they are probably the hardest BMW parts to find. Price tags represent this -- http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=0348-USA-04-1985-2471-BMW-R_80_G_S&diagId=33_0607
