Can any of you tell me the difference in length between a G/S shock and the one fitted to the ST, and would fitting a G/S rated version affect the handling characteristics of the ST? taking into consideration that I am a fat bugger.:beer:

micapeak says a rear shock with smaller travel (153 mm vs. 170 mm);

you could fit a g/s shock and g/s forks to the st.:augie

So would that 17mm make that much difference to overall ride performance, or could you adjust it out at the shock? I ask this as it is easier to find new monoshocks for the G/S than for the ST, where the main choice is Hagon or Hagon.

I used a ST shock while I was waiting for Sherlock to get me a new damper.
OK most the time but it lowered the bike 2" and I could hit the mudguard on full compression riding like I normally do, but I'm a fat git ..:augie

I still have the spare ST one here :)

Kev,

I've sent you a PM on Advrider about a few things you may be interested in :thumb2

You'd firstly find the seat 2" higher, which might be ok if you have normal sized legs :augie

Then you'd find the forks are a bit steeper leading to a possible instability. Though you could fit a pair of g/s forks to even things up :thumb2
