Probably tracks laid in readiness for some wind farm activity ?

Must be an old image on google earth. It looks like it's the Pauls Hill windfarm but according to the Fred Olsen Renewables website it started full operation in 2006.

This lovely county (along with several others unfortunately) is currently being constantly 'decorated' with these bloody things! It's not so much the fact that they aren't particularly efficient, it's more galling that our Mickey Mouse run government have agreed to pay out billions of pounds to multi-national companies to cut their supply off from the grid when they are actually working and have met the basic targets originally agreed. WTF??
Light to zero winds forecast here for the next few days....

However, they have provided some excellent access to hill tracks :rolleyes:

Dean Martin's birthplace: that's in Moray

I know who I'd put my money on...

No, no, no, no. :rolleyes:
It's a song divers sing about Eels;
"when the eel that you feel, does not feel like an eel -
that's a moray"
:pullface

So do I ....... but it actually started off as Elginshire/Morayshire in 1708: however in 1975 the penpushers f*ucked about with it to form the Moray district of the Grampian region. In 1996 another bunch of jobsworthies spent a load of money to rename it the council area of Moray

I still bear the scars of the leather strop from Elgin's East End Primary school ........

The world is full of fuckwits too be sure. But Morayshire never existed as a place, at least not in modern times. Indeed it has been Moray District since re-organisation in 75. Shire appears to have been tagged on but officially Morayshire doesnt exist.

Whatever, if it means that much to you! I still live in Morayshire though and have done for 50 years now and really don't give a toss about the political history with regards to renaming...
