On a recent long(ish) trip my 2003 1150 GSA ran a little rough, not all the time, but sometimes on hard acceleration it felt like it was miss firing. While I was away I did manage to get a small amount of water in the tank - drain hole now unblocked:blast since I got home I have changed plugs, added some 'dry fuel' and injector cleaner, new air filter and general service. Still running a bit ropey on hard acceleration, again not all the time....

So, I pondered..... Checking it over I noticed that the tick over was a little high, adjusted this down to normal - in the process I noticed that if I 'tickle' the throttle on the left the engine runs, rough, but runs. If I do the same in the right it stalls... Erm.... Coils, I thought to myself - swapped 'em over - no apparent change.

Any thoughts??? (And yes, the cable's are seated correctly & no I haven't taken the tank off recently :augie)

What else has been done recently? Valves? Throttle body balance? Air filter? Just done all of mine recently and smooooooother now....... check the plugs too, hopefully something simple...

That's perfectly normal... The L/H throttle tells the motronic how much the fuel the engine needs, the R/H throttle doesn't.

The way to check the stick coils is to pull the lower secondary plug caps off both cylinders and see if it runs with just the main plugs on both sides.
