More funny noises

My 1150 GS Adv (single spark non abs) is just about to hit 60k and I've noticed a few odd noises.

First off, when wheeling backwards into the garage it makes what can only be described as a farting noise. I've checked and plenty of clearance between tyre and both huggers. Any other suggestions? Main output bearing was changed about 1k ago. Noise was present before stripping the rear end and persists after.

Second noise, there seams to be a rattle/clunking from the front end when going over speed humps and rough surfaces at slow speed. I've got a new shock to replace the 60k one should i check anything else at the same time?

And the third i noticed yesterday, I really shouldn't ride without music and ear plugs!! When coming to a stop or setting off i seam to get a gentle clunk from the rear. Seams to occur on the transition to hard breaking and slight acceleration at slow speed to. Now I hear it i can also feel this through the foot pegs.

As I’m going to be swapping out the shocks and tyres in the next few weeks thought I would get advice on these other niggles so I can do anything else needed while I’ve got it apart.

Farting noise could be (depending on what it really sounds like) brake pads rubbing, either front or rear. Get the wheels off the ground and spin each wheel slowly backwards and see if you can reproduce it.

Rattling sound from front could be loose pads (perhaps related to the farting) - I had EBC pads in some bike or other than didn't have anti-rattle springs and they had me thinking the bike was falling apart until I realised where the rattling was coming from. Easily checked - pull the brake on very slightly while going over bumps - if the rattling stops that's probably the cause. If it's clunking rather than a rattling check the balljoint on the wishbone - I had this wear out on an R1100S after only 12k miles and it caused clunking over bumps.

Rear clunk...er....dunno. Maybe the bushes in the torque arm are worn?

Does it make the same noise when bouncing the rear up and down ? if so check the paralever bearings.

get hold of the front discs and physically try to move them back and forth. The mounting washers/bolts can loose their grip after a while. Cured with new bolts and washers.

If so thats normal, it's the ABS just going through it's check process.

No, just when wheeling backwards, not a lot of suspension movement involved.

Very loose, thank you Mr Steptoe. How much for new bolts and washers? (assuming you sell them!)

Yes it does feel/sound a bit like that but I don’t have ABS. What I do have is a large 'fatter foot' on my sidestand I wonder if my springs aren’t strong enough to hold it up so it bounces.... I will investigate.
