More Givi E52 questions

Seen the recent threads on fitting a Givi E52 topbox to a GS .
Have I got this right?
1. I need the the Givi mounting plate. Does anyone know what Givi part#? Couldn't find it on the Givi site.

2. This attaches to the existing GS rear luggage holder? Have I got this right or are there other fittings required?


3. Do I need to remove the handrail from the luggage holder? or will the plate and box fit behind it?

I have a graphitan bike with B*W system luggage and want the topbox to match this as well as possible. Therefore it looks like I need the E52N as this is black unpainted (but doesn't come with the lighting unit)? I haven't seen the E52N only the silver E52G730 but I think I have this right from the colour perspective.

Also, I'm considering getting the passsenger backrest (E95). Has anyone used this? is it comfortable, does it effect the integrity of the waterproofing of the box?

No other fittings required (other than those supplied)

You do need to remove the handrail.

It is comfortable, mrs ralphy wouldn't get on without it & it hasn't affected the waterproof integrity of the box.

Agree with Ralphy's answers (attaches to existing luggage rack, minus handrail, backrest v. useful for pillion - my other half said it made a huge difference to comfort on board, no water ingress problems so far)

If you're after part numbers, try phoning bikestop on 01438 317038 (from tomorrow) - the main man there owns an ADV and sold me mine. The base plate kit comes with everything you need and if I could fit it (mechanical numpty) anyone could.

You need rack E189 which is specific for the GS. It has a couple of braces which attach to the BMW side case mounts. I got one just before Christmas to mount a V46N case.

There is a fitment section on www.givi.co.uk.

It is also probabaly replacing the bolts givi supply with ss items.
