More snow in Central Belt

after missing us for weeks.

I had the choice of bike or taxi and as I'm daft and love a wee adventure it wasn't a choice at all really.

The snow at home was only an inch or two but on Tourances near the end of their life it was plenty of excitement. Even the main roads weren't clear until I got to lower ground around Barrhead.

Might be interesting tonight

Likewise up here. Mainroads were fine for most part, getting to them was interesting though

At least it's warmed up a tat, which is a good thing as my left hand heated grip has packed up for some reason.

I'm on one foot and two crutches at the moment after going arse over tit on a frozen sand dune on Monday morning...

Hope I don't have to cope with snow as well as ice.

Pure sheet ice in a lot of places, must have been sleeting as it was reasonably ok this morning

I had visions of the M20 on the 9th of January again.....

Alas, no.

I took the mutt onto the dunes early Mon morning. There'd been a really heavy frost and I went arse over tit down one of the frozen dunes. Felt fine all day but was in agony by late Mon night.
So half past four on Tue morn sees me trying to drive myself down to A+E (no taxis round here at that time in the week), doing as few gearchanges as possible.

Torn muscles in me thigh..been told I'd to rest it for three weeks.

Feck that. I'm pretty good at hopping for a fat bastard.

I cant get the GS out the garage at the moment - when I say cant, I mean wont.......I still have visions of the arse-clenching moment I had on my 2nd day of motorcycle ownership never again will I take the bike out when there is white stuff on the road

It was fine when I left in the morning It's just when the snow hit late afternoon for the run back home all chaos started. Coming down some of the ice covered hills in the ratrun between Kingswells and the dual carriageway made for some interesting riding. Cars were all over the place, bizarely somehow I felt more comfortable being on the bike.

Mind you, did take the car in yesterday (first time this winter) although in hindsight there was no need for that.

Did Dundee to Methlick today without any problems apart from the occasional bits of standing water, back to Dundee by 3:30.

Unlike Wednesday when I was at Inverurie and Ballater, Inverurie wasn't too bad but Ballater was in retrospect a tad unwise, especially with an unladen lwb rear wheel drive van...
