Has anyone used the Morgan carbtune to balance their throttle bodies ? Its seems to get good reports (Ride & Bike) and costs less than £40 !

The mercury ones in MCN got a Best Buy at some point - but there may be some debate over the possibility of mercury being sucked in - perhaps its a BM thing .

Personally I have a set of Davida gauges which I used on my 4 cylinder bikes and they work fine.

I have the Morgan Carbtune II, hese do not use mercury but steel rods, so no danger of any mercury going anywhere, work well too.

Morgan Carbtune II

Yes - those are the ones - they got a best buy in RiDE/MCN a while ago. The mercury thing was probably a electrical fault in my brain or a memory about people making home-made gauges.

Please accept my apologies and good luck - it's easy-peasy.

I think the original carbtune used mercury.
Anyway,I use a morgans to balance the throttles and Im very happy with the results I can get.

Opinions

Got a Morgan in the garage but - Use a Twinmax on Beemers you can feel the difference used to use a Davida Set before I drove over them - but used Morgan for many years on four and three cylinder bikes with great affect, but for me the Twinmax provides better results than both gauges or Morgan, but there again its twice the price - u pays ur money I guess.

I use Morgan mercury guages - have done for years. They are simple to use and completely accurate. Never had any problem with the engine sucking mercury in. This is largely academic anyway, since you can't buy them any more, probably cos of Health and Safety reasons - why is, I assume, why they were replaced by the stainless steel rod variety.
