Upon your arrival in Pembrokeshire your welcome to stay at my place on Saturday 27th. (Secure garage for GS is available) We can then set off early Sunday 28th March for Plymouth (Approximately 5 hrs M4-M5)

Had a look at the Spain route – Here is my suggestion which is similar to yours- :

Sunday 28th March Plymouth departs 16:30 (Arrive at Plymouth 1 hour prior to departure – Brittany Ferry Pont Aven),

Monday 29th March Arrive Santander 13:00, disembark & head for Salamanca (225 miles approx):
Santander – A67 to Torrelavega then A67/N611 – Reinosa - Aguilar de Campoo-Palencia-pick up E80/A62 -Valladolid-Tordesilla-Salamanca.
Overnight stay in or around Salamanca.

Tuesday 30th March – A66/N630/E803 –Caceres-Merida-Sevilla (320 miles approx) Overnight stay in or around Sevilla.

Wednesday 31st March – A376-Utrera-A375-El Coronil-Junction left onto A384 (for 14 km) -then right onto A374 for Ronda – A369-Gaucin-A405-Los Angeles-Almoraima-Pick Up Main road to Algeciras Overnight around Algeciras.

Thursday 1st April: Depart Algeciras- ferry to Ceuta (35 minutes).

Are you intending to meet up with Steff & all the rest of the GS travellers? - I think they are travelling on the 1st April.

Spanish route not written in stone - this is a first look and is open to discussion/changes/suggestions ect- Let me know what you think.


As for accommodation, I’m coming round to the idea of taking the camping gear. However, my preference is for B&B’s/cheap hotels ect.
As for Morocco road or trail – My preference would be to stick to tarmac/compacted roads. Will probably fit Metzler tourances.
Not sure what the rest of the travellers have in mind?

maybe you didn't understand me, i need the number for a sharing a same cabin with you.... . So the number i need only, if you dont mind to share cabin with me. But there is no prob for me to share with some1 else. The cabin cost a 120 euro less when i share with other person. So thats it... Have to ring then 2morrrow again to confirm the type of cabin.

Hi all,

Im Morocco bound at the same time as you lot. Im doing the portsmouth-bilbao route - getting in on 28th March (returning from santander on 19th April).

Im on a F650GS (so maybe a little slower) and although i've done bits and bobs in vietnam, thailand and india im a pretty novice rider (this is the first bike ive owned).

However, I'd be keen on meeting up with you lot and seeing what happens. Im going to take camping gear (need to camp one night in the desert at least!), am also happy with cheap hotels, b&bs etc.

Im getting some TKC80s fitted ahead of the trip.

I fancy a bit of tarmac but plenty of off road too (im currently studying "Morocco Overland" for ideas.)

If its ok i'll tag along to the 1 April meet and see what happens?

Hi Footewah,

You are welcome to join us in Tangier around 1st or not too far outside a day or two later. I'm also on a 650 and have ridden quite a bit out in Asia.

We arrive in Tangier on the 1st at 11AM but probably won't stick around there for long. Perhaps it's better therefore to meet just outside Tangier or somewhere like Fes. I also have the Morocco Overland book and we're still looking at various routes to take.

Everyone: Perhaps it's a good idea to post your email addresses so we can make concrete plans?
