Hi all
Apologies for my extended silence, I've been abroad for a few weeks and lost track.
The trip should still be on and the only other confirmed participant so far is another Belgian fellow Geert, who I found on the HUBB several months back. He seems to have a fairly solid way of getting there which is different from the Santander - Plymouth route the Brits will be taking. He is also putting together a route covering most of the nice parts. I think we'll be in Morocco for 10 days but no dates have been fixed yet. This will depend on job commitments.
I have to emphasize that getting a small group of fun loving riders together would be great but that neither of us Belgians are particularly experienced in these sort of trips. To look at me as the "leader" of this trip would probably be foolish
I'm a 31yr old well traveled daily rider, currently on a bike in northern Thailand, have ridden across Costa Rica on a dirtbike and lots of France and the Black Forest on my own Dakar but don't ask me how to change a tire. Just to give you an idea
I'm not very comfortable being the only person to select who is coming and who is not. If as many people are going as it seems then perhaps we could break off and rejoin groups according to experience, interests, stamina etc. Whatever seems good at the time.
I guess a good start would be to see who is ready to make a "maybe" into a "definitely" and I'll write back here once I'm at home and have met with Geert in the beginning of Dec.
Thoughts?
