:camping howdy all.
myself and the better half are off for a month in morocco next year :thumb2
will be doing a mix of cheap hotels and camping, just after advice on locations of siutable campsites.
1; on the way down through spain (getting boat to santander) about 4/3 hours from santander? Will be staying at "camping rio jara" near tarifa (used it before :thumb2:thumb2) the night before morocco.
2; in morocco itself? I know hotels are cheap enough, but i dont think she'll like wild camping
3; will be taking a week or so up through france via milau bridge so any idea's:nenau (routes and fun roads etc)?
just trying to keep the costs down :comfort

In some parts of Morocco (mountains, deserts) it's easy to wild camp, in other places all the land is private/in use. I've only stayed in a few official camp sites--in Chefchaouen, Timnay (north of Midelt) and Tafraoute.

The disadvantage I found with official camp sites in Morocco is that sometimes they are in isolated places on the edges of towns and security is a bit iffy so you don't want to ride off into town leaving all your gear lying around. Pitches can be brutally hard, so a mallet is a good idea.

and in Chefchaouen campsite, get your hard hat out!

There tends to be lots of firs dropping out of the trees onto your head :augie

AND i agree with taking the mallet, my motorcross boots wouldnt even touch the groud it was so hard ha ha

I found that you can get a room for only a few £ more than camping.
I only take a small tent so we can have a few wild camps if we find the right place to do that.

see you on the road
