morocco on base camp?

I've just downloaded morocco for my Navigator iv, it seems to work on the unit and it displays the map on the Mac when plugged in.
However when the garmin is not connected, the map disappears from the list and basecamp reverts to the global map.
Is there a way of displaying the map on the mac without having to plug the garmin in?

Download the maps to your mac, if you can

In Basecamp, have you the option of clickin on the unit in the upper left pane, and then clicking on the maps in the lower left? If so you may be able to drag them to your Mac.

Sorry if this is bugger-all use, I've always started with the maps on the Mac …

Try downloading the mapping again, and near the end there should be an "options" selection, where you can select what maps go where, including to the PC.

It's the same on my PC.
I think this is just the way it is.

Thanks for the suggestions.
It didn't give me the option of downloading to the mac, it does do when I do a Europe update but not on the Morocco purchase. Tried dragging when selected but it wouldn't let me drag it out of the box. Tried it using the comp but still no joy. Seems like it's only good to go when plugged in
