You love the 640s Tim my pal has just brought one for morrocco, I had a ride the other day I was impressed the low down was very good a funny tingling feeling through the feet tho he has just developed a problem we found the the filler cap is letting in water when it rains we stripped it down emptied the tank cleaned the carb all working perfectly again , the problem his got now is finding a new cap by wensday do you know of any other caps that will fit the 640 as a temporary fix.

I don't off hand and just did a search on ADVrider with no luck, I have a spare tank but sadly no spare cap

If he's using a tank bag (or not) when it rains gaffa tape 3 side of a square piece of polythene over the cap with the untaped edge at the rear or under the tank bag, that with allow it to breath sufficiently.

Just had a thought re filler cap.
What age is the bike, is it an old one with screw cap or later with a key?

With key check out weather KTM SMT 990 fits.

Cheers Tim he's phoning ktm tomorrow, we leave ist thing wens morning so time is limited now we took it apart today & found a perished washer which we replaced so if he can't find a cap in time he can bodge something over the top like you say

Be careful what you use. I made one once out of an old inner tube, it lasted a few hours due to the petrol

Aha hopefully it may be ok now the washer has been replaced if not as you say gaffer tape is our friend
