On the way out to a bike meet last Wednesday my dipped beam blew. I wasn't far from my local dealer so I called in to get a new one.The old bulb was tight to remove but not ridiculous, the problem started when I came to fit the new one, after lining up the tab I pushed the bulb home with a small amout of force, as I did this I felt something give, the next thing I know is the whole of the silver reflector assembly is wagging about inside the headlight housing. Anyway, cutting a painful story short, it turns out that the height adjusted assy is ona ball and socket inside the housing, push too hard and it pops off. £70 later it was sorted, but what a crap idea, searching this site reveals it's common problem. You would think BMW would sort stupid flaws like this, idiotic things like this really pee me off.

Having been one of the unlucky few that this has happened too (I needed a headlight and bought a UK one from fleabay and surprise the previous owner had done the same ) one thing they don't do is 'just pop back on'. , mine took some lockwire and ALOT of pulling:eek:
