today we just had a bimble around looking for little off the beaten track roads, and found a corker that was probably the steepest bit of road i have been on, it wasnt very long but was steep and very twisty it ended at the tiny village of lieuche and was a dead end so we had to go back the same way we came up.

It was just to hot for me today so we decided to have a day off the bike and go for a walk along the river and generally chill out a bit, we were just about to go for said walk when edward the chap who owns the place turns up on his harley, so we shoot the breeze about bikes and this and and that, and then he asks what i did for a job, i told him that i was retired and used to be a hgv and plant mechanic, at which point his eyes light up, he then tells me he has a mini tractor that has not run for 2 years so like a fool i offered to have a look.to cut a long story short 4 hrs later his tractor is running and my lady was half way through a book and a bag of stuffed olives, so we had a bite to eat and went for our walk by the river

we moved from castellane to our next digs at guillestre to day via the col de la lombarde the col de la bonnete and the col de vars, weather as usual very hot.
we would also take in the little village of peone on route. All the cols on this route were all stunning but also very different from one another. pics in order of cols traveled.

first day out in guillestre we decided to visit Château-Queyras and have a run up the col de agnel and another venture into italy, this was possibly my gals favorite col, i must admit it was very pretty. first pics are the chateau and the run down at the river side.
