Most overpriced R1150GS on ebay?

One at a local dealer same age with twice the miles at the same price

Worth every penny especially as it's got the super rare "black anodised engine & gearbox" option.........:D

That thing needs riding instead of being a garage queen. It's almost a new bike in that condition so would seem reasonably priced even though it's 13 years old.

It's in a good colour scheme....and the mileage is low for the year, but for me that's about it. The owner talks about not wanting to put miles on it, but he's actually done 14k in 4 years.... I guess he's cashing it in while its under the imaginary 20k barrier, with his personal circumstances forcing his hand (been there, done that myself).

We have to admit (even as flag-flyers, which I've become) that GSs do seem overpriced - especially compared to the RTs. Is there anything else on an 03 plate that would command nearly £6k?

Or is it that as new bikes have shot up in price and are now only really affordable on PCP (sign on the line here, sir, and don't forget you don't own the bike) that the prospect of owning a solid bike outright has pushed prices up?

I've got a two-owner (me and my dad) '99 blackbird with 12k miles on the clock, mint condition, fsh. Yours for £4800.....

Mmm.. yes I guess they are not making anymore of R1150GS, but it seems an awful lot for a 13 year old bike.

Maybe it's the "long way down" effect

Lovely bike. If someone thinks its worth £5800..it'll go. If not, it'll go for less or get stuck back in his garage until he believes its the right time...but I'm with Sgt Bilco, it needs bloody riding

What about £16000 for a 30 year old R80 G/S PD then

Age has no meaning

Or £250,0000 for a ropey & rusty Brough Superior from the 1930's

Any vehicle is only worth what a buyer is prepared to pay

I don't think he's that far off on price - but it probably needs to be sold in the summer and with a full set of Alu luggage to achieve it. He might get lucky, but I'd be happy with anything over £5k for it, rather than keeping it over the winter and selling in the spring...

There are loads of them out there at this price / mileage. I just paid 4.7k for a minty fresh 2001 R1150GS with 8000miles on the clock. More than happy, cheap biking with no or very little depreciation.

I'd go with what 'Mike O' said....

No luggage/wrong time of year = offers around £5K.

Just my 2p.....:)

Blimey, mine's looking cheap at 3 grand for a 1 owner 2002 model with 22k. I thought it was a little on the high side or just about right at that money. I might be tempted to stick it back on fleabay at 4 and a half grand. Or not.

The other end of the discussion, my pall bought a R1150GS last week with 29k full ally luggage (not BMW) plus a few farkles in good nick for 2.7k. You pay your money and take your chance
