Looking for a bit of advice guys. Just had the bike down for the MOT and it failed :mad: on the headlight. The bloke said that the headlight isnt giving a light pattern. i have a set of HIDs fitted that i got of les and they have not been a problem during the last two MOTs. I also have one of the touratech plastic headlight guards fitted. If anyone can give me a clue to what could be the problem it would be a great help

Change your tester.
My guy noticed it but said he "didn't see it".
Said I must have changed from the standard light to HiD after the MOT...:-}
And it's not because he's slack: was very competent and helpful guy.
Works for a dealer with the colour blue.
Need I say more??

The Touratech polycartbonate head lamp protector is NOT road legal and Touratech make that clear in their sales bumf. But the plastic protector just pulls off, so just take it off before the MOT. I would think it probably distorts the beam pattern.

The HID's are technically illegal within the EU as unless they are OEM, Touratech, Wunderlich, etc. with a European 'E' number inscribed on the lamp (not the HID burner) glass.

Instant fail in Germany if no E number, but UK seems laid back about this requirement, for the present.
