Has anyone has this problem?

I modded my 1150 headlight to 35w hid and have passed the MOT inspection since the bike was first registered back here in 09.

Apart from last week that is

Apparently my beam was not at the right angle and failed to give a reading into the inspection machine.

The bike has a correction sticker over the lense as it was a euro model owing to being purchased in Italy in 03.

Can anyone shed light  on what they are exactly looking for and how can I be sure to pass the retest? I have since tried the roller bar to the rear of the lamp and it does seem to offer a little height adjustment but not much.

Thanks

Should be easy enough to swap out the hid bulb for a normal halogen for the test and swap back after.

Imported 1150s normally just have the lens rotated to the 'abroad' position. Is the moulded bit of the front glass horizontal or skewed? My one went thru loads like that.

The 1150 has an adjuster behind the clamp that holds the headlight bowl & glass to change from left to right hand dip. No need for a "correction sticker".

Be very careful loosening the adjuster, it has a tendency to seize and then forcing the headlamp to rotate will break the clamp.

Search the site for 1150 headlamp adjustment or something, I'm sure it's on here.

HTH :thumby:

Exactly plus I removed the correction sticker. Will rotate the lense for next year lol

Why wait to rotate it. Your light pattern will now be dazzling oncoming drivers so rotate it now... You know it makes sense (Rodney) :thumb2
