mot in europe

Traffico in spain are going after UK vehicles now and looking for mot certs. We saw them in Estepona this week. Im getting an Irish bike for there because we dont have an mot for bikes so its less complicated. :augie

Well good news from Carol Nash (Ireland) this morning...... my renewal in €350 fully comp and I can ride the bike with no problems for 365 days in a row if I want. So I asked them to confirm that if the bike was left at my property in spain they would have no issue with cover and the answer was "no problem as long as I am the registered owner & keeper". So an irish bike in spain is the way forward :aidan.

That's very interesting and opens up a whole load of possibiltities for ex-pats.

Nice one:D

Just have to hope the Spanish Police agree.
Can't see how they could object - if he's got his green card valid for Spain.

There's an issue over the vehicle registration obviously, but from the insurance point of view he's squeaky.

Log book... valid insurance.. driving licence... no mot needed for Irish bikes, seems like all is in order officer :augie. And as long as they dont see the bike everyday of the year it wont attract attention.
