Having obtained some Hella Micro,s I realize now that they will not simply marry up to the holes in the Motech upper bars. Ive done a search but cant find help in the threads Ive read. Others no doubt have had the same problem so how is it overcome. Any help would be appreciated. 05 1200 gs.
Oh !! and a merry Xmas to one and all :thumb2

Any vendors out there who have or can make a cradle for the Micro DE,s :nenau

What's the problem,do the mounting holes not line up or does the light unit interfere with the side panels?

Thanks Jon. No the holes dont match up at all but then again its a standard bracket thats supplied in the kit. So its a specific bracket I need. Cant find anyone that makes them though. :(

Merry Christmas Glyno, are the mounting holes out by much? if not, a 5mm round file to bring them closer/further away, or open them up slightly with a larger drill bit, are you trying to mount them with the 2 M6 bolts or the central M8 bolt?

Thanks again Jon, no they arnt out by much and yes I was hoping to mount them using the existing holes. Dont really want to hack away at the bars or cobble up brackets. Was kinda hoping there was one out there already but maybe not but then again for what purpose were the holes there for in the first place. :nenau

Some of the smaller lights, such as those sold by SW motech and Wuderlech(micro flouters)and also cheap Ring fog/spot lamps use a closer bolt hole pattern were as Hella use a slightly wider fixing, hence your predicament.Other than making a bracket to bolt to the original holes and moving the light forward on two correctly spaced holes.I don't know of a custom made product.

Cheers pal, looks like thats the way I will have to go unless I can get someone local to fashion some new brackets for me. Thanks for your input and a merry xmas to you. :thumb2. May as well close this thread now.

Well after much trial and error and thanks to Jontyms tip I have the lights mounted. Quite pleased with the result as well. Rubbed em down to begin with, primered, base coat and then loads of lacquer. Just got the wiring to do and oh yes could do with a water proof switch if anyone has one doing nothing. :thumb2
