Just ordered an SW Motech quick lock tank bag from Nippy Normans. They're making one specific to the 12GS now with a 25ltr capacity.
Liked the idea of it not rubbing on the tank and looks easy enough to get off for fuelling.

Has anyone out there got one of these already?
Any problems? Although it's a bit late now I've parted with the readys.;)

Works for me!

Bought one just before off to TT and had the thing on the bike for a week. Excellent product. I am really pleased with it. Much better than the old tank bag. Lots of other people asking where I got it too.

Did you buy the tankbag with the powered mount?

I'm keen to get your impressions of the tankbag as I plan to get one myself.

Didn't go for the power option as I'm not important enough to need a blackberry/mobile attached to me when I'm on holiday:augie
Just lookin to enjoy a couple of weeks away from the phone and that bloody computer. Austria/Dolomites here he comes :D

Got the Engage tankbag, didn't go for the power option as couldn't be arsed sticking another relay on the bike :augie instead as I've got a battery charger lead near the headstock I wired a socket into the tankbag and just plug it in when I need it, cost £2 to do and no wiring to do on the bike at all. Plus the lead stays out of sight as theres a small zip right at the front of the tankbag made for the job:D

So only gets plugged in when it's needed so no cables running over the tank when it's not fitted :)
If you fit one with the crossbrace it does need to be fitted quite far back on the tank, doesn't effect riding but looks odd from the side, sorry no pics yet.

Couldn't agree, more:bow .......me blood pressure is through the roof all week what with disconnecting mobile phones, slow computer connections, trying to speak to unintelligible call centre staff and listening to endless crappy piped music whilst on hold :rob

Toured around France a couple of weeks ago and never missed any of the above and returned totally relaxed.......now:blast

Motech Tankbag

Is it me or was the drilling of the holes to fit the bag a twat of a job??
They give you 6 holes to choose from on a bag designed especially for the GS and you clearly only need the front 4 unless you want to foul the switch gear.

By drilling the holes the bloody rivets spin round, falling out eventually, and giving you a hole bigger than any normal man (or lady) would desire!

Any way it's a well made bit of kit and looks the biz however I'll still be fitting something, probably woollies book covering plastic to the tank to stop it scratching the paint work for my trip.

Leaving in 3 days time :clap
