Motech Trax panniers

Thinking about getting a set of these as they look robust for their fairly low price. After a search theres a few threads saying people have them but none on how they shape up after a few trips and a few months of ownership.
So any feedback, before i shell out some hard earned would be appreciated.

I have a set, had them since june.
They are easy to fit/remove and carry all I need for touring. In my opinion 10/10. If you look in the previous threads you will see pics of them fitted to my GS.
Go and buy a set, you know they make sense.

My brother has a pair of black ones on a 1055 Tiger. They look pretty good and seem to be sturdy; although he hasn't had too much use out of them yet so its early days. However, I would make two observations in comparision to my BM ally panniers:

1. His panniers didn't come with locks as standard to secure them to the rails, which makes them easy to steal. Some kind of locking system might be available as an extra, but if not, you will need to engineer something or risk losing them.

2. They have a lip around the top, which reduces the size of the opening. As a result, they won't take his crash helmet (Caberg) or mine (Arai). If you want this facility then I would check your lid fits first, or else do what he did and buy a Givi topbox.

A set of frame locks are available from Motech to secure the quick release racks to the bike for under £30.

My panniers came complete with locks and fitting kit all for a little over £500.

It seems it's down to dealer knowledge and how they package the system.
