Originally V35 engine but sometime in the past a V50 engine has been fitted.
Historic eligible since April but status not yet applied for.
Selling this as a project because it has a problem and to fix it is beyond my paygrade.
Symptoms of problem – Went for a ride recently and after 30 miles or so bike appeared to be running on one cylinder only.
Turned round to come back home but stopped for lunch (had provisions with me) and left hand cylinder was hot and right hand cylinder just warm.
Bike restarted fine after lunch and initially was running normally but after a few miles was noticeably running on one cylinder only and for last 10 miles
the bike had a loud misfire. Made it home without further problems.
I suspect (but I’m far from an expert) some sort of ignition problem that starts when bike gets up to temperature as the bike seems fine when cold.
It is Bosch ignition.

Owned by me since June 2024.
40,000 km / 25,000 miles.
MOT until January 2027.
Recent big service including new tyres around 250 miles ago.
Linked brakes still fitted.
Bike lives in Norfolk.
£1500.

Thank you.
I use a mechanic I've used for a few years now and he services my bikes over winter when he has a little more time.
It doesn't matter to me when they are serviced.
Now, at the end of May he will be busier than a busy thing.

Two observations from moi. Coils can fail when hot. At this age of bike replacing a coil is an investment anyway. Secondly fuel starvation. Has the fuel taps lines carbs been thoroughly cleaned.

I always have liked the small block Guzzi’s , all the charm of their bigger siblings but at a much more affordable entry price.

My thoughts too Steve. If it was an airhead, the coil would be a very likely suspect. Do Imolas have 2 separate coils? If so, easy enough to swap and see if the other cylinder develops the issue.

Lack of space is all that stops me heading to Norfolk right now!

I've seen it! Lovely looking bike, slim & light, you really should keep it John and great to have a good natter, its been a few years, time does fly by. (y)

Thank you Gadget.
I've just checked and it was in 2011 that I bought your R100GS.
And you bought my trailer sometime a little more recent than that.
Time certainly does fly by.

Indeed John, lovely to have good chat with you, I was supposed to be going over to Diss and see my friend Alan, before he left for his house in France, but time flew by in your garage and I missed him, he left early to join the melee at Dover!

Thank you for all the technical advice posted above.
I've decided that if it doesn't sell I shall pass it on to my clever local mechanic person later in the year when he has time to breathe.
I do appreciate the advice but I also know that the fixing it will be beyond me.
theoneandonly asked where are the ignition boxes in post number 10 above but I don't even know what they look like.
I spent my working life in computers so anything over and above basic servicing is beyond be I'm afraid.
I don't mind if it doesn't sell because I do actually like the bike.
I shall report back if anything happens sometime soon.
