Moto Piston Rally Picos October 2011

Should i put the 90s back ont throad then:augie i like this thread.. i will see if she will start in the morning:D

with a bit of luck i will be ok by then, i hope...

I reckon you should Bustpucker, would be nice to see a lot of older bikes on this trip:thumb.

Well i went to the Classic Bike Show at Stafford today and was pleasently surprised to find that the Moto Piston Club had a stand there advertising the pre 80 rally in October and a pre 95 rally held in july.

Had a chat (well more hand gestures and arm waving) with two pleasent spanish chaps who help organise the rally, was provided with some nice red wine and cheese and biscuits and was informed thet they were happy for my 1982 Laverda to enter the event(result).

This is shaping upto being a cracking event and the red wine was nice, had to drag my missus away:blast,

MOT'd the le mans a couple of weeks back, taxed it at the weekend.

i may have peaked too early :)

Hi Fellow Tosser, Having booked the ferry and hotel a few months ago, then cancelled hotel (event moved blah blah) I still haven't seen any official info on the event like what, where, when, and of course HOTELS.

So the big question : is it just me in the dark:rob

I need to get a bike!

Reckon my trip might end up as a trail riding in the Picos week with a one day visit to the moto pistons :)

It's all here :-

Note that the 5000 Curves entry form is ONLY for the June meeting not October.

Sounds a great idea for running an older bike, slightly out of season, scenic countryside, regularity event over in the UK.

Spain & the Picos are great, though. :thumb2

Looks like I will be taking my 79 GS now as the Norton Commando is sold :)
Can anyone recommend accomodation in (or close to) Santander?

Well I'm now on a TTR600 and thinking I'm going to visit the rally on one day and then spend the other time exploring the area riding some trails. Now thinking about maybe going out on sunday 2nd from Plymouth and having a couple more days.

Sounds a plan Trippy, give Jiohnny Boxer a shout, he was on about taking his xc over and doing a few trails:thumb

As has been said, not long now and cant wait:friday
