Moto Piston Rally Picos October 2011

Did another 100 miles this week and she's running well. I am really looking forward to this event: fingers crossed for some good weather and cold beer in Spain.

Not really in keeping with the classic theme of the event but it'll be more useful on the trails.

You'll need to fit some mirrors before you go to Spain. Last year the police stopped and issued instant fines to every trail bike in our group that didn't have mirrors fitted.

though the evening meals were superb when we stayed there last year, the breakfasts at la pisa were not so great.

humvee and i were chatting about this at the w/e and thought we'd ask if we could have something more substantial, even if it was to cost a bit extra.

so, what would you like to eat in the morning?

Nice bread, from a bakery

Yoghurt and fresh fruit

Some nicer cereals, like muesli

Decent real orange juice

Ta.

edit: not for one minute doubting your telling the truth but I cant see anything on internet to say that bike mirrors are compulsory.

Sounds good to me :thumb2

Yep.

Left one compulsory always. In addition, the right one will be compulsory for those bikes with a maximum speed of more than 60 miles.

does that law apply to old bikes, not many had 2 mirrors fitted? if so, i'd better get a second one for the le mans.

Not really. Cereals, Toast, fruit..., very continental. In some mediterranean areas they have roasted bread with olive oil and chopped tomatoe.

I am travelling over in my Renault Master van so if anyone does breakdown and needs their M/C bringing back to the UK, I will probably have room in with mine and barryG's bikes. Springer has my mobile number.

Interesting thanks. We suspected it was just bent cops on the take but they insisted that all bikes needed mirrors even full on enduro bikes that would never have had them fitted.

The basic law has always been there. On my ossa tr350 from 1982_1983? the left one was compulsory. In the old good times just the left one was required but then both became compulsory. Same for cars. Any bike which number plates has to be homologated and lights and mirrors among other thinks are required. I believe is the same in your lovely country.
Out of interest: Hid lights, filtering, to overtake with white line, to use ear phones and to manipulate the gps while you are driving is forbidden, so do not think they are bent cops or that they just do not like british. Is the same for everybody.
