Nice little 49cc Motobecane Mobylette registered in May 1965 so now 60 years old & eligible for Tax & MOT exemption

According to DVLA it was last on the road (taxed) in 1983. The chap I got it from repainted it & had it running around 10 years ago. Since then it has sat in his shed unused so will require some light recommissioning

£650 is the asking price and I will only advertise it here for 7 days then it's off to eBay

Collection is either Marlborough, Wiltshire SN8 or Newbury, Berkshire RG20

Any questions just ask :thumb

I have a 1964 Raleigh RM6 Runabout, pretty much the same bike but without the leg shields. It’s called Daryl because it’s VRM is DAR11B. I think that one of yours is on the money. GLWS.

I’ve been looking for ages for something registered on the day I was born, which is 13 March 1964, looked at this 13 July 1964, right day but 4 months out!

My first powered 2 wheeler, green & crème with pushbike front brake, wonderful in the wet

That's lovely. Had one in 1962 and passed my test on it, two week after I was sixteen .... and could then ride anything :thumby:
Great fun, went everywhere on it fishing.

:beerjug:

My first ever bike too, living in Netherlands at the time, 1978, freedom :)
No hills then! A double edged sword, pedal up hill, Boo, unlimited speed down hill, Hurrah :D

Paul, you probably remember the one Marcus had. We "rode" it along the lane near the Grammar School, often two or three up. If I remember correctly, the velocity reached a registered 45 mph, but only if we all tucked ourselves in tightly. :ROFLMAO:

I don't remember the bike but I do remember cycling past you, Marcus & Cookie on my way to school on my MK1 Chopper thinking how hard you all were because you smoked :spl1f:

Marcus, Cranfield & myself hit 90 three up over Henley Bridge on his SR500 coming back from Chez Skinners at 2am. Straight through a red light at the Angel on the Bridge :loopy

And straight on, up the steps of the Town Hall, through the back doors and into Friar Park, no doubt! :yikes :D

At "that" roundabout", halfway down Valley Road, my brother (the slow one), fresh out of the A E Hobbs, went straight through it on his CB250. The bike came out the other side, he didn't!

We watched him do it, though he didn't know we were there at the time. He scrambled out of the thicket, pissing himself laughing. :D
