need a bit of guidence if possabile.
i have been riding my 12gsa with alpinestars teck 4 boots as i like the extra protection they offer over my road riding sidi boots.i like to wear textile clothing on the gsa not the full race leathers as it looks soo wrong.
my problem is with the gear selection wearing motocross boots at the moment i tend to use the liped edge of the sole on the boot and not the top of the boot causing the gear selection to be hit and miss.
would the answer be to fit an extended gear selector or to raise the hight of the gear selector but this may make the down changes a bit more hard work.
any thoughts out there i would be greatful to hear from you. ;)

I would raise the height of the lever, you may have to lift your foot a bit for a down shift but that is not a problem. I dont think an extender would be of any help if you cant get your foot under the lever in the first place.

I ride in Tech 4 boots and have no problems changing gear with the top of my boot :thumb

I can't recall what the footpegs on the Adventure are like. On my R1200GS I've removed the rubbers, leaving the serrated metal pegs. This gives enough clearance to enable me to get my toe under the gear lever when wearing my Sid Flexforce SRS boots.

GSA has serrated pegs as standard (nore like a enduro bikes pegs). I made the observation yesterday when looking at my brothers that the gear lever looks too close for a proper motocross boot. You either need to move the lever or the pegs. As the pegs would preferably have to come back, the lever seems the easier option.

I ride my 1200GSA in great big Alpine Star Vector motocross boots. Had to raise the gear lever on the spline a little. No problemo now changing up or down. :bounce1

Larger Boots

I have just bought a pair of Alpinestars Tech 10s and i couldnt get them under the gear lever. I had to adjust the lever as high as it would go and also take it off at the gearbox spindle and turn it around 1 space so its higher, its a bit fiddley but possible, now my Tech 10s fit under perfectly. :rob
