We intend doing a car tour in mainland Europe next year and plan on attending the Austrian, Misano and Aragon ones. We've both done the Misano race many times and I've been to the Red Bull Ring a lot but my wife hasn't and none of us have been to the Aragon race (I want to see the huge wall).
Looking at the prices that are available Misano is £160 for 3 days sitting on grass and £295 for 3 days in a grandstand and Austria (turns 2A and 2B) is £274 for 3 days (Global-tickets) and £232 (Gootickets) with Sunday only being £260!
Three races for two of us and suddenly it's not a cheap trip!
Much as I'd like a discounted ticket for being an old bastard (unfortunately there aren't any) it's a lot of entry money for anybody.
Surely cheaper entry tickets might attract more attendees which would please Liberty Media.
We may miss out Misano as we're very familiar with it and just go to Austria and Spain - who knows.
I've still to show her Mugello but maybe save that one (the best) until 2028.

I wonder if there will be a hike in the video subscription

I can only really comment on spain/Portugal rounds. But be sure to check circuits.

Portimao locks you into the corner/area and take all food and drinks. So youre trapped there with a burger van.

Barcelona also took all food but its possible to walk round the outside of whole track. And get on the track after the last race.

Jerez also allows freedom to walk all outside of circuit but didn't check bags for food etc. Although food at track was fantastic with loads of choice. Jerez was the best by far for freedom and atmosphere.

I personally only buy sunday tickets to keep cost down. But even if you're not a Márquez fan the 93 club stand is great to be in. As both brothers stop there after the race. So if you're in the front row you are face to face with them and also really close the the bike. Can see alot of detail.

I always wanted to get a paddock ticket but even this year they were thousands. Pole Position travel does hospitality for Moto3 team which gets you in paddock then you could wander around. But even that for 1 day was €1500.

If you or your partner are registered disabled(blue badge, anything like that) By 1 ticket, partner goes free as carer and free parking below the main grandstand(this is for the Redbull Ring,Austria)
You could blag it,we were never checked throughout the day.

As with F1 cars, the prices of Grand Prix meetings is now eye watering. Though the price for say the 24-hour Le Mans car race has gone up a lot (while the ACO chases the corporate dollar) it’s still pretty good value as a whole. What though is also very good value are the endurance races in general and, top of the value tree, classic bike and car racing of all sorts.

I'm sure I could look the part!  ;)

I'm sure if there was more money to be made by selling cheaper tickets, that's exactly what they'd do. I think that model works in the Far East circuits.

The issue is that only a real enthusiast wants to go and sit through all three days, and the number of people who think "I'd go for all three days if it was £100 but I'm not paying £300" is probably quite low. The other side of the coin is that if you're keen enough to sit through three days of bike racing, it's probably your main interest in life so you'll find the £300 required. I think we're getting old and beginning to suffer from the mentality of "£300???? That's a whole holiday!" (It's like my mum and the price of fish and chips; more pension than she can spend, plenty of savings, nice big house, but won't pay £10 for small cod and chips out of principle.)

We used to go to a couple of MotoGPs a year but haven't for the last three years. Not because of the cost, more to do with the lack of comfort and too much hassle.

Jerez is indeed a great atmosphere, but the tannoy is too loud. I spent virtually every second at the track wearing ear defenders (rather than just when the bikes were racing). Absolute chaos in the car park too, and the park and ride system to the main car park just stopped immediately after the final race on race day! We walked, but the friends we were with (a little older and less mobile) found it too far. Also, main food stands are outside of the circuit.

We had some great experiences in Barcelona, including one year in the Marquez stand. We didn't have food and drink taken from us, but the last time we went was 2019 (I think). My wife won a draw to visit the pits and meet Marc Marquez on race morning which she loved. I had a nap in the shade of some trees!

We didn't go to Portimao for the reasons mentioned above - penned into one section of the circuit. Le Mans is really good, though you'll need a grandstand ticket if you want to sit comfortably. General admission one year was a mistake...

The best experience was Assen in the Haarbocht stand on a Hospitality ticket. It was a real treat for our friends who were celebrating big birthdays, but well worth the money. We were very lucky with the weather though - three days of sunshine, almost unheard of!

One of my lottery win plans is to follow a season of MotoGP on VIP tickets, driving the Ferrari from one posh hotel to another circuit in Europe, then flying first class for the fly-aways. Chance of this coming to fruition are very slim, but would be improved if I actually did the Lottery.

EDIT: I've wanted to go to Aragon for a while but it's quite remote and getting hotel accommodation in Alcaniz - the only big town nearby - can be a challenge. Friends who went said it's not a great viewing circuit in person as there aren't many places where you can see lots of track. Also, the N232 is the one road to the circuit and was gridlocked for miles.

I've been watching Moto GP (or it's equivalent) all of my life and have been to a few abroad and lots in the U.K. but ticket prices at Silverstone have stopped me going there.
I like to do the full 3 days and these have always represented pretty good value, particularly at Barcelona and in the U.S.A. but £260* for one day is just ridiculous.

FWIW I cancelled my BT Sport subscription a few weeks ago for a number of reasons:-
1) Gavin Emmet. Sick of him talking all over, and thinking he knows better than, a former world champion.
2) Marc Marquez.
3) Marc Marquez' dickhead brother barging past everyone else but refusing to overtake his brother no matter how big the gap is.
4) Cost. It was just getting far too expensive.

I would probably have carried on watching the sport with a combination of just 2 of the above but all 4 meant I finally pulled the plug on somethingI've thoroughly enjoyed for decades.

* FWIW I wouldn't go to the Austrian Moto GP if it was free entry and complimentary food and drinks all day but that's another story.
Takes all sorts... I almost stopped watching/going because of the ridiculous Rossi idolisation, from commentators and fans at the circuit! However, he moved on and so will Marquez (my guess is after this season if he wins the championship).

I don't mind Emmet, but I was sad to see Keith Huewen go a few years back.

What's the story with Austria? Don't leave us hanging...

Dull story - soccer related. (y)

Jerez is a fantastic experience and highly recommended. Stump up for the best grandstand seat you can get. It will be worth it. Jerez town the night before the GP is an experience too. Great fun.

All major sport is getting expensive. I've just paid £130 a day for Ashes tickets at Southampton next year. Trent Bridge wanted £170 per day. BSB remains decent value but for racing on the cheap, try a Bemsee meeting. 20+ races for about £20. Bargain!

i almost went to sepang on wednesday

for the 3 days it was less than 65 quid for the stand where the hairpin is

thats thru sepangs own site thru motogp you could only buy hospitality which was 2 grand :o

hotel at the airport was 55 quid which is across the main road between the airport and the circuit

flight wasnt mega expensive either
