You need to check the permitted noseweight for your actual vehicle, they all differ.
This is a big points job if your caught over the limit. Most cars are only capable of carrying 75-90kgs (this would include the weight of the rack)
My old Omega Estate could carry 109kgs and I was told by Bermicks Trailers that it was very, very unusual for a car to have that high an allowance.
Jep Cherokees have a very allowance good apparently...

Have used them in the past for trials bikes, no problem, but prone to rusting over time.
Last one I had was Galvanised but can't for the life of me remember who made it - but will try and dig the info out 'cos it was a good piece of kit.

That's exakkerly what I've got on the Landy for recovering trail bikes in the mountains.......it got heavily used in November and stood up to it very well.
You'll probably need the longer bolts to run through the tow hitch but it's a piece of pish to use......the middle section stays on the car and the two outer bits (including a slider end for different wheelbased bikes) just slot in.......
I was a bit concerned at first that the two bits just drop in, but they're at 60 degrees to the frame mount and once you've got the bike up on the specs, it's totally solid.
Bloody good price as well.....you'll only need the 4x4 one if you carry a spare wheel on the back of the car/truck , otherwise just the normal car one will do.
You'll need three tie down straps, maybe four if you're going over bumpy ground with the bike on board.
I don't use a tow-board on the back 'cos the landy lights are clear and visible from behind the bike, but you may also need one of those and a bungy strap to tie it on.

I'm intrested how much ,what kind is it and do you have a photo please ?
It's the same style as the Dave Cooper ones but heavier duty. I've used it to carry my Husaberg all the way to the South of France before now.
It cost around £80 when I bought it so I think £30 would be a fair price.
I don't have a photo of it and wouldn't be able to get one for you till the weekend as it's hung up at the back of the garage behind 7 bikes at the moment.

, I've also been thinking of one to get up your way without the hassle of a trailer and I see the link here has them for a 4 x4 with spare wheel I made one years ago to carry my grasstrack bike to meetings without any problems, if it gets a bit light on the front end just take it steady.
