Motorcycle News ~ 18th September

Sister publication Bike Magazine - dared to criticise the WC on launch - big love in ever since. Nuff said.

Oh, well that's all right then... MCN's always right :augie :D

Hit the nail on the head .

I'm sure the gs is a very good motorcyle but as many on here , I have stopped believing the commercial shite that mcn puts out

Best All Rounder - Ducati Multistrada

I was waiting for the Tunnel to France last week, unusually it was quite hot...

I was on my clapped out R100GS.

A guy was looking pissed off, his glam girlfriend (on a Monster) keeping a low profile.

His brand new Ducati Multistrada had just fallen of its centre stand (because of the soft tarmac) :blast

Smashed front brake lever, handguard hanging off, indicators, some fairing damage etc. etc.

The Holiday seemed to be over before it'd begun, as the Ducati was (to him) unrideable.

And this is sold as an 'Adventure Bike' - don't make me laugh

I'd genuinely have kicked my bike over, it wouldn't have hurt it, if it would've saved him the ride back to the Dealer in Godalming, to get it fixed.

That's if they had the parts in stock of course.

These bikes are a joke :D

A bit like the guy I met at the Docks in Denmark, he was 2 up on his wife's ER6 with a ton of luggage.

His 1200GS was still up in the very north of Norway.....broken.

"Should have kept mine" he said looking at my bike :tears

I just picked up RiDE magazine which has a "Sports Tourer Buying Guide", comparing the Z1000SX, VFR1200F, F800GT and .... the new GS. Quite how they decided to include the GS instead of the K1300S I don't know, but the "best bike on test - the best bike to ride fast all day - is the GS".

BMW must have been buying some Peterborough journos some very big lunches, as the GS is now winning shoot-outs in categories it's not even in.

Yep, agree.

Or otherwise it is, as all professional testers say, THE "Bike of the Year".

It's a GS.

C'mon, let's get behind it, for the good of the brand.

T'is a GREAT bike, everyone seems agreed.

Love mine and seeing the plaudits it receives only generates a warm feeling in my man parts......

However

How many other significant launches has there been in the last twelve months?

Not many I'd say, a great bike but its winning awards with nil competition.

Me? I couldn't care less either way.

The KTM is supposed to be pretty good?

What ever I am very glad I changed to the GS the more I ride it the more I like it. It has been great in the poor conditions we have had so far this week! So if others like it, good, otherwise their loss, me thinks....
