Has anyone done BMW's Moroccan Adventure Tour? I am a newish GSer and fancy a trip to Morocco. I see the trails here which are clearly based on serious experience; so perhaps later for me. I am interested in details on the trip's off road difficulty level, level of support, organisation, special equipment needed, excitement / wow factor, etc. I have done the level 1 course and ride a 1200. Thanks - Hugo

just go under your own steam - they stopped eating white people a few years ago. It's almost the same as travelling in europe. Absolutely nothing to be worried about.

Steptoe - Thanks. I have been there on foot (running MdS) and loved it. My enquiries are due to lack of biking experience. Achim mentioned your name - I'll make contact once I have done some homework. Cheers

Schultz - thanks for the tip. If I join now do I get one year of just 18 days and have to renew Jan1?

Hugo, take a look at this thread http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161292&page=2 for a complete report that starts at post number 19. If you've done level 1 off-road skills course you will have no problem with this trip.

From what I've read, some of the other trips organised by other organisations are just as good but you may need further off-road experience.

It would seem that Wildcat don't do much off-road although you should read this report http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=162906 which will raise the eyebrows!

If you do go on your own with a few mates, you are a long way from a comfy hospital or help if it all goes wrong. However, if you want a real sense of adventure you should have a great time.

If you use an organised tour company, ask them if they use a backup vehicle with a guide that speaks the local language and how they would cope with a real injury or get you and your bike out of the country.

It's 1yr from the date you sign up mate

You will have have an absolutely brilliant time on a BMW Motorrad tour. I've been on two and going back on a third in 2009 (this time to Tunisia):thumb

its agood trip, just the right amount of thrills but with good back up, and excellent value, evryone coped real well.

Wildcat in March

Thanks all for advice. The BMW trip is in September which is too late for me as I can't wait to go and I may also be busy. So I am looking at the Wildcat Adventures GS Offroad Tour end March / April. Anyone done that one? There are 3 places left if anyone wants to join. Regards - Hugo
